How to use the NeilMed® aspirator?

1. Place the baby in a sitting or semi-sitting position.
2. Place the silicone tip at the baby’s nostril and draw the air through the upper (orange) opening of the tube, which actually acts as a one-way valve—preventing you from blowing air into the baby’s nose. You can repeat the process as needed in both nostrils.
3. If the secretion is thick, before starting the suction process, it is advisable to apply a few drops of Probotalife® or wild oregano nasal spray to both nostrils.
4. Cleaning

The cleaning process is simple and should be repeated after each use: rinse the aspirator with dishwashing detergent or liquid soap, rinse it thoroughly with a stream of warm water, and let it dry. For disinfection, the following methods can be used:

– Boiling: All components (except the filter) are placed in boiling water for 5 minutes. After the water cools down, remove all components and allow them to dry (they can be wiped with a lint-free cloth).

-Microwave disinfection: Cleaned parts with soap or dishwashing detergent, thoroughly dried, are placed in the microwave for 45 seconds.

-Chemical disinfection: If you use chemical tablets or solutions for disinfecting baby bottles, you can use the same for disinfecting the nasal aspirator.

5. Replace the hygiene filter if it is soiled, and definitely after finishing a particular acute infection. Do not attempt to sterilize or reuse the filter if it is soiled with nasal mucus.
